The Prescott Area is rich in history, culture, entertainment, and outdoor activities.

Over 9,000 years ago people were settling in the Prescott area. With the discovery of gold in 1838 there was an influx of many different people.

Prescott became the Territorial Capital of Arizona from 1864 to 1867 and then again from 1877 to 1889. Prescott has many homes and businesses on the National Register of Historic Places.

Prescott is the county seat for Yavapai County. The county courthouse on courthouse square has become the focal point for many year 'round activities, such as: the 4th of July parade, the Christmas parade, numerous arts & crafts fairs, car shows and band concerts. Prescott also hosts 'The World's Oldest Rodeo" and is know as 'Arizona's Christmas City.'

Prescott Valley, Chino Valley and Prescott form what is locally called the Tri–City area. Yavapai College, Prescott College and Embry–Riddle University have many different entertainment and sports activities throughout the year. This area also has a number of fine museums, lakes, recreatonal areas and events such as an annual air show. The Tri-City area is surrounded by the Prescott National Forest.
